The AMEX Open | Impact Through Golf Awards $1.1 Million to La Quinta Nonprofits at Annual Community Event

I had the pleasure of attending one of the most impactful La Quinta events of the season which took place this week at La Quinta Country Club, where Impact Through Golf — the charitable foundation of The American Express — hosted its annual Community Impact Celebration.

Under the beautiful La Quinta weather that our desert is known for, the foundation awarded $1.1 million to 15 local nonprofit organizations serving families throughout the Coachella Valley. The funds were generated through proceeds from last year’s American Express PGA TOUR tournament, a long-standing highlight for anyone following things to do in La Quinta and one of the valley’s most beloved traditions.

Since the tournament’s inception in 1960, more than $67 million has been donated to support over 100 local organizations — strengthening the La Quinta community through education, health services, youth enrichment, and family support programs.

2025 Donation Recipients Include:

  • American Red Cross

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert

  • California Community Foundation

  • Coachella Valley Boxing Club

  • Coachella Valley Rescue Mission

  • Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine

  • First Tee Coachella Valley

  • FIND Food Bank

  • Galilee Center

  • Girlfriend Factor

  • Hunter Lopez Foundation

  • Ophelia Project

  • Pueblo Unido CDC

  • United Cerebral Palsy of the Inland Empire

These organizations play a vital role in supporting residents throughout the valley, especially in areas such as health and wellness, education, family support, homelessness services, natural disaster relief, and community development.

The American Express tournament is not just one of the valley’s biggest sporting attractions — it’s also a major contributor to the local lifestyle that makes La Quinta such a special place to call home. From world-class La Quinta golf courses to the vibrant energy of Old Town La Quinta, events like this help strengthen the fabric of our community.

Save the Date

The 2026 American Express tournament will return January 22–25 2026, bringing thousands of visitors, incredible golf, and more opportunities to give back. If you're looking for things to do in La Quinta, this event is one of the most anticipated highlights of the season.

La Quinta continues to shine — not just for its beauty, recreation, and lifestyle — but for its generosity and commitment to lifting up the entire Coachella Valley. You can purchase your tickets for the Amex Open 2026, Buy Amex Open Tickets Here
